The results are in!
1618 of you voted (WOW!) and after a very tight race KKK took the lead with just over 51% of the votes.
Regardless of the real answer, I think this proves my point nicely; a group of 1600 people really couldn’t do better than chance when deciding if this was a quote from a Tumblr Social Justice Blog or a member of the KKK. That’s kind of horrible, isn’t it?
A few people have posted that this comparison is unfair because TSJ poster are just expressing their frustration with their oppressors.
- The internet is not a safe space. When you publish your posts to a public website I am free to comment and respond to them. There are many private platforms available both on and offline to vent your anger.
- Not everyone in a demographic is your oppressor, unless that demographic is specifically “racists,” “sexists,” etc.
- There is a huge difference between saying “I hate racists/sexists/douchebags!” and “I hate whites/men/straight/ people!” There’s nothing wrong with hating racists/sexists/douchebags.
- I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: If your movement represents itself in a manner literally indistinguishable from the KKK, there is a problem.
Anyways, I proved my point so you guys don’t even need to know the real answer.
So was it TSJ or KKK?
The answer is KKK!
This quote comes from high-ranking KKK member David Duke. Thanks for playing, and join me next time! Please feel free to send in any quotes you find!
Edited because fucking tumblr formatting deleted some of my stuff.
